I just re-tooled everything for the new year. There are still some bugs for XP, but I don't have the time to fix it, or to promote CUnap... Anyone available to HELP?

This is Awesome! We've got about 360 Active users, and almost 2TB of data served. CUnap pretty much runs itself @ this point! I've got all the files I could ever want available!

<01.15.02
Everything is going quite well at the moment. We're hovering around 50 users, only about 15% of our former user base. I'm sure word will spread quickly that we're back online, fast as hell. Also, We've only discovered a few, minor bugs so far.

The CUnap Encryption Patch has been tested, and now has been posted. Hopefully CUnap will pretty much run itself now, and won't need so much work :)

01.09.02
The CUnap Encryptor is nearing completion, further hamperd by lack of windows box to work on. We expect to have an installer and patch available by Sunday night, the 13th.

01.07.02
Finally! The CUnap Server is fully encryption enabled! After the new client software is created, and a patch created for the old versions, We'll be back!

Happy New Year! The CUnap Encryptor is coming along well, and we are on schedule for completion by the start of classes for the spring semester....More news soon.

12.09.01
I must admit, my personal pet-peeve is when people don't update their website... Anyway, The patch is coming along but finals are just around the corner, so progress has been slow. Expect to see CUnap in full force after winter break!

Sorry about not posting news for so long! Here's the situation: We've been frantically working on a patch to speed up CUnap's seaches and it has finally arrived! If you want to test the patch, Download it! The final release of the patch will available Wednesday.

We're working out a fix for the server slowness that should be done by this weekend. Unfortunatley, it can't be done without another patch. CUnap.com has remained quite popular, despite the downtime and recent slowness. Please bear with us, this is a new service, and we're still working out the bugs.

11.28.01
The Saga Continues... CUnap.com was shut down yesterday by ResNet. It turns out you are not allowed to run any type of server on ResNET computers. The servers(both cunap.com and the OpenNap server) have both been moved off campus. Please excuse the downtime, and the banner ads above.

11.27.01
And so it begins... We've transferred all of our servers to cunap.com and www.cunap.com. We'll be aggressively beginning today and tonight. It looks like CUnap.com will be a wild success, we've already gotten 140 GB indexed by the server.

11.26.01
The countdown continues.... Day after tomorrow we go live! Today we've done some final tweeking of the installer, and are preparing to migrate our servers to cunap.com and www.cunap.com.

11.25.01
Finally the installer is complete! We're really happy with how it turned out, it certianly exceeded our expectations. However, It is not fully tested. If you would like to test it, Download it. We're almost ready to go "Live", probably Wednesday of this week!

11.22.01
First off, we've found nameserver hosting, and should have www.cunap.com online within the next few days. Recently, we've been researching different clients, weighing their pros and cons. We may have an ad-ware alternative to WinMX witch is a little more user-friendly. Download it here

11.21.01
The testing has been going well, although the server has been quiet due to the thanksgiving holiday. It seems with another publicity push when the students return, we should have an established user base. The website seems effective, and we've had about 17 downloads of the client so far. I think that 80 users on the server at at time is a reasonable goal.

11.19.01
Some of the final decisions are being made. First off, We will be purchasing www.cunap.com for the sake of everyone's memory. Second we have scheduled a tentative "Go Live" date, Monday November 26th. We'll start larger scale testing until then(only one week from today!).

11.17.01
I couldn't quite get the patch working like I originally wanted to, but I have finished it. I am currently updating the web site regarding the change in installation, etc. Larger scale testing should start soon.

11.16.01
The WinMX install issue will certianly be resolved using a patch. I am a little hung up designing the patch application, since I don't have a windows computer at my disposal... I would expect the problem to be resolved by Monday, the 19th.

11.15.01 -- PM
Good news or bad news first?
Good: The web site is nearing completion! Bad: The WinMX installs done by our testers have not gone too well. I am going to start looking into a custom version, or installation of an OpenNap client. This will ease setup woes. Also, WinMX seems to be having trouble sharing pre-existing files.

11.15.01 -- AM
This morning I finished the WinMX tutorial and a Mac client recommendation is being researched. The site map has changed some, and I am beginning to have some users test the server and web site. I hope to have the main page redesign done tonight. More straightforward info about the service needs to be added.

11.14.01
Well, I suppose simply having the site online is news worthy! I have just gotten the basic site design work done, and am building the pages. Tutorials will be coming soon. As for the server, It is online, and configured, but requires some thorough testing before we really start getting the word out. I am also in the process of getting clients tested and tutorials written.
